About This Tide Tool

This tool uses the Norwegian Meteorological Institute's ocean forecast model (Havvarsel-Møre 800m) to provide sea surface height predictions for coastal locations worldwide. The model is updated every six hours and provides hourly forecasts for approximately 48 hours ahead.

Location search uses OpenStreetMap Nominatim to convert place names into coordinates, then passes those coordinates to the ocean forecast API. Your location is only used for this look-up and nothing is stored.
