Birthday Countdown

Enter any birthday to see the next celebration date and how many days are left.

What the birthday countdown shows

Enter a date of birth and the calculator finds the next occurrence of that birthday, shows how many days remain, displays the full weekday and date, and calculates the age the person will turn. The name field is only a handy label, so you can use “Dad”, “Mia” or anything else that makes the result clear.

Turn the day count into a useful plan

If a birthday is 45 days away, that might be enough time to order a personalised present but not something being made overseas. A 10-day countdown may be more useful for confirming a restaurant, cake, babysitter or local delivery. For a birthday trip, the weekday shown in the result can help you decide whether the celebration naturally falls on a weekend or whether you need to plan around work or school.

How the next birthday is chosen

The tool creates the birthday date in the current year. If that date has already passed, it moves the target to the same month and day in the following year. The age shown is the difference between the birth year and the year of that next birthday. This is different from the Age Calculator, which is better when you need an exact age on a chosen date.

February 29 birthdays need a little care

A leap-day birthday does not occur on the calendar every year. People and legal systems may treat February 28 or March 1 differently for age-related rules in non-leap years. The countdown is for personal planning, not a legal determination of when a person reaches a statutory age. Confirm the applicable rule if the date affects licensing, contracts, benefits or another formal threshold.

Privacy and local calculation

The calculation runs in the page in your browser; there is no account to create just to check a birthday. You can also use a nickname or simple label rather than entering a person's full name. If you need to calculate the gap between a birthday and another event, use Days Between Dates.
