Calculate how many full months are between two dates, plus any remaining days.
The calculator counts the number of calendar months between dates, plus any remaining days.
Calendar months โ so it accounts for months of different lengths.
Yes, enter any past or future dates.
This tool counts complete calendar months between two dates and then shows the days left over. It works with real calendar months rather than assuming every month is 30 days, so February, leap years and 30- or 31-day months are handled as part of the date calculation.
If a subscription starts on 15 January and ends on 20 April, the useful question may be how many whole calendar months have elapsed and how many days remain. That is different from simply dividing the total days by 30, because January, February, March and April do not all have the same length.
Month intervals are often useful for subscriptions, leases, probation periods, warranties, baby age, project phases and anniversary planning. They are also useful when comparing two dates that share the same day number, such as the 10th of one month to the 10th several months later.
A business, landlord, lender or service provider may define a billing month or notice period differently from a simple calendar interval. Some rules use anniversary dates, some use a fixed number of days, and some adjust end-of-month dates. Use the calculator as a neutral date measure, then apply the rule that governs the real-world situation.
The calculator uses normal Gregorian calendar dates. It does not interpret contract wording, public holidays, time zones or special end-of-month conventions. When the date range affects a legal, financial or employment obligation, verify the relevant rule before relying on the calculated interval.
